I'll stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.
Former twice world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
